APPEAL TO IGNORANCE
In this version we argue that because the opposition cannot prove its case, our case must be true by default.
THIS TECHNIQUE IS ESPECIALLY USEFUL AGAINST ANY NEW IDEA OR SUGGESTION TO ADOPT SOME POLICY THAT HAS NEVER BEEN TRIED BEFORE. IF AN IDEA HAS NEVER BEEN TRIED BEFORE, THEN OBVIOUSLY NO ONE REALLY KNOWS IF IT IS OR WILL BE A GOOD ONE. THEREFORE, SINCE WE CANNOT PROVE IT IS GOOD, IT MUST BE BAD.
